Gilmore Girls Opening

Throughout the opening of the gilmore girls opening, there is are constant clips showing the close relationship of the mother and the daughter. The fact that at the begining of the credits there are about six different shots of both the mother and daughter before any of the other characters are introduced. The title of the programme seems to symbloise this, making it evident to the audience that the gilmore girls are in fact the mother and daughter. This may also show to the audience two independent women who in fact don't need any man in their lives as they have each other and it will always be that way, both supporting eachother.
The opening is able to show the audience that these two females may be of upper class, as there is a shot of an older man reading a newspaper and decides to it would be a good idea to give the young girl a newspaper of her own to read. Also with the area in which they live in, seems to suggest to the audience that in fact they are upper class.

The genre of Gilmore Girls is a drama and a comedy however the fact that it is also a comedy is not made clear to the audience through the opening credits. The drama throughout the sitcom may be mainly based upon the lives of the two main characters being the gilmore girls and their family also the other characters that appear within the opening credits.

The majority of the charcters in which are shown within the opening credits are white upper class males and females, with only one shot of someone in which is from ethnic minority. They are representing a strong family unit by all being with eachother and supporting one another. This is obviously shown by the mother and daughters relationship.

The audience in which this programme would mainly target would be teenage girls and middle aged women. This may be beacuse the programme is mainly centred around the two main charcters both being the mother and the daughter realtionship. Having this shown to the primary audince may target them to want to watch the programme. The ideology in which gilmore girls tries to promote through the opening credits is emphasing the relationship that the mother and daughter have, having the music played in the background only puts more meaning to this as they are shown to always be together and will always be there for one another.

The narrative in which the programme may follow is shown throughout the opening credits. A possible narrative which may be found throughout the programme is that either the mother or the daughter may be in trouble and it would take both of them supporting eachother throughout in order that the problem is sorted, therefore showing the family unity and the close relationship that they have.

Ne-Yo Miss Independent video

This music video Miss Independent puts the audience watchin the music video are put in the position of the male singer ne yo. The video aims to show the audience a place of work at which where women have all the higher positions and arguebly are shown to have equality in terms of the status in which they have with the men. The shots of all the women at the beggining of the video shows all the women concentrating on their work. Its a heavily dominated office with women shown to be doing al the work. There is a shot with a women walking a dog which emphasises the fact that women are the ones with the most power in the video compared to men as usually a mans role would be to walk the dog. Its implying that these women are independent are are capable of doing jobs likes these on their own. The mise en scene is just only of the office which also shows the fact that women have all the main roles there.

The women throughout the video are presented in a positive way. The fact that throughout the video there are only two male charcters shown that they are working in an industry at where most of the women have the power. This is also made evident through the fact that the female charcter in the video is in fact the boss showing that she has all the power and control over them men. The genre of this video is rnb however it differs to other music video as women are not objectfied and are fully dressed.

Watching the video does not give the audience a clear indication to who may be the target audience therefore people who may be targeted to watch the video may be fans of the artist or just like to watch the video. However because the artist is popular within the younger generation the main target audience may be between the ages of 14 to 18. The video is different in terms of not objectfying women in a sexual way, therefore it may encourage more girls to watch the video as it is portraying women in a positive way. The social class may be slit in between the c d and e class as this is where most of the people would actaually want to watch the video.

The ideology which the video creates seems to be a positive one for women. Usually in music video the audience see semi naked girls who are only shown to reinforce the male gaze. Even though the women in the video are good looking there are not objectified in a way in order to attract only men to look at. It is also made evident through the fact that the name of the song is miss independent the women are shown to have the higher roles in the video promoting a positve representation of women.

The narrative of the music follows the male protaganist at what seems to be a normal day at work for him. As he enters he is greated, only by good looking females who say good morning. The video however, even though it could be said all the women are good looking, are shown working and having more status than the men in the video, thereby showing the audience the idea of the name of the song being miss independent showing independent women.

However the main story of the magazine is the hair styles of these females. Disney

The walt Disney company is one of the largest media and entertainment corporations in the world. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt and Roy Disney as an animation studio, it has become one of the biggest Hollywood studios.
Disney's founder Walter Elias Disney was found the spirit of creativity, innovation and excellence. Walt arrived in California in the summer of 1923 with dreams and determination,. He had made a short film in Kansas City about a little girl in a cartoon world, called Alice's Wonderland, and he planned to use it as his "pilot" film to sell a series of these Alice Comedies to a distributor. On October 16, 1923, a New York distributor, M. J. Winkler, contracted to release the Alice Comedies, and this date became the formal beginning of The Walt Disney Company.

Originally known as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, with Walt Disney and his brother Roy as equal partners, the company soon changed its name, to the Walt Disney Studio, which was initially housed in a succession of storefront buildings in Hollywood.

In an effort to expand its business, Disney initiated the Disney Channel in 1983 and established a new film label, Touchstone Pictures, with the release of Splash in 1984. However, because of the widespread perception that Disney stock was undervalued relative to the company's assets, in 1984 there were attempts to stage hostile takeovers of the company. These efforts were unsuccessful and, in October, Michael Eisner and Frank Wells became chief executive officer and president, respectively

The studio continues to produce highly popular filmed entertainment, with animated films like Lady and the Tramp and Sleeping Beauty,
